Systems Administrator

About This Role

As a Systems Administrator at IAT Solutions, you will be responsible for managing enterprise server infrastructure for federal government clients. You will ensure high availability, security, and performance of critical systems that support agency missions and operations.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux systems
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management services
• Administer VMware and Hyper-V virtualization environments
• Implement system monitoring and alerting solutions
• Perform system patching, updates, and security hardening
• Create automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, and Bash
• Manage backup and disaster recovery procedures
• Troubleshoot system issues and provide tier 2/3 support

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of experience in systems administration
• Strong experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
• Experience with Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
• Proficiency in Active Directory and Group Policy management
• Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, or Bash
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator or equivalent
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet)
• VMware VCP certification
• Experience with federal government IT environments
